Follow a low calorie diet to minimize your calorie intake. Generally when the energy generation in body exceeds energy expenditure, it results in excess fat deposition. And the area on the lower side of the outer slanted abdominal muscles is one of the favorite places where fats easily get deposited. So a proper diet plan is very important to lose extra body fat.

Cut down fat, sugar and all high calorie foods from your diet. Restrict certain kinds of fat like saturated fat and trans fatty acids. Cook your food in less creams, butters, and oils. Try using olive oil if you need some oil to cook. Olive oil is good for you. Use skim milk instead of regular or whole milk. Use more egg whites rather than egg yolks.

How to get rid of love handles – Rule 2

Aerobic workouts and strength training exercises will help by building muscle to replace those layers of gut fat. The body's fat supply is a denser and more plentiful fuel and requires a lot of oxygen in order to be burned. Aerobic exercise enables the body to receive this oxygen and so your fat burning potential is at its highest when doing intense aerobic activity. Increasing your fitness increases your base metabolic rate too, which means you'll burn fat even faster and get rid of your love handles in no time.

Remember that in order to get rid of love handles, you need to burn more calorie than you consume. Sweating can help you burn more calories than any other things. Pull on some loose clothing and go for brisk walk for 30 minutes. Or if you’re fitter, go for a run. Or try cycling, swimming, football or any activity which will raise the heart rate and get you sweating for 30 minutes 3 – 4 times every week.

How to get rid of love handles – Rule 4

Drink plenty of water (at least eight glasses of water every day). This will help to reduce bloating and water retention. This will also help reduce the bulges and quell hunger.
